AMP page limitations
For the reasons described below, the "Start AMP" theme works as an SEO add-on for your main page,
to which the user will navigate from the AMP page!
- You must have an SSL certificate.
This means that your website must be opened via https. - AMP-specific markup.
AMP pages use different markup, so standard images in the theme are not allowed (they are "cut out" in the page and article editor). - Third-party scripts are not allowed.
Third-party scripts refer to all scripts that are not provided by Google.
Therefore, the functionality of an AMP store is very limited.
And this is the second reason for disabling plugins in the theme - practically every plugin adds its own script to the theme, which would violate AMP validity and cause your pages to disappear from SERPs!
For the same reason, you cannot insert an online chat script! - Forms do not work.
The server response format sent by >Web Systems Pro< is not compatible with the AMP form script. Therefore, forms do not function.
This leads to the following consequences:
– You cannot add a product to the cart and place an order;
– You cannot filter products in categories;
– You cannot add product reviews or blog post comments.
Despite significant limitations, it's worth considering AMP!
