How plugin Fast index works

On the first launch, plugin remembers the list of all pages on the site, and then tracks the appearance of new pages or the removal of old ones. When a new page appears, it is checked against several factors: the response code (200), whether it is not forbidden in the robots.txt file or by the "no-index" tag, and whether it is not a duplicate (by the canonical tag). If the page qualifies, it is placed in a queue for submission to search engines. The user sets the frequency of checking changes and sending pages to Yandex/Google.

Plugin is based on regular checking of sitemap.xml, which allows tracking the appearance/removal of any pages, including those created by plugins that are not plugins.

Plugin uses Indexing API for Google and Index Now for Yandex.

Indexing API allows any site owner to directly notify Google about the addition or removal of pages. This allows Google to schedule their indexing, which helps improve traffic quality.

IndexNow is a simple way for site owners to instantly inform search engines about the latest content changes on their site. In its simplest form, IndexNow is a simple link-checking tool that informs search engines that a URL and its content have been added, updated, or removed, allowing search engines to quickly reflect these changes in search results.

Without IndexNow, detecting content changes can take search engines from several days to several weeks, because search engines do not check every URL often. With IndexNow, search engines immediately learn about "changed URLs, which helps them prioritize crawling those URLs, and thus reduce organic crawling of content to discover new content".

Note! Search engines themselves determine which pages to index and at what speed. Plugin only recommends first checking specific pages using the officially supported Index Now technology. This method does not guarantee that submitted pages will be indexed.
